Terms of Business

Each of the services promoted on this website are offered by one of four different providers within our group, that is Hargreaves Mounteney Ltd t/a Mounteney Solicitors, Mounteney Conveyancers Ltd, Mounteney Legal Services Limited, or Hargreaves Mounteney Trustee Company Limited. What service is offered by which provider is apparent on this website from the company logo on the top left corner of the website Services page, and also from the text for each product, especially under the heading “Money Matters” that specifically identifies which group entity is offering that service. We will specifically confirm which group entity is your supplier when you engage our services. Although you will not normally be offered any choice of supplier, you may consider the differences between our group’s different providers to be significant in reaching your decision about whether to retain our services at all, for example:

  • Clients of Mounteney Solicitors and Mounteney Conveyancers Ltd obtain the additional protections that arise from Government regulation of those suppliers (including compulsory Professional Indemnity insurance) – whereas supplies by Mounteney Legal Services Limited and Hargreaves Mounteney Trustee Company are not protected in that way;
  • Clients of Mounteney Solicitors and Mounteney Conveyancers Ltd will have to pay VAT on their bills, whereas Mounteney Legal Services Limited and Hargreaves Mounteney Trustee Company are not VAT-registered and therefore do not have to add VAT to their charges

If you deal as a consumer then any statement on this website should be interpreted in a manner that does not affect any statutory rights you might have as a consumer.

The terms and conditions on which each of our suppliers offer to do business contain further relevant materials and provisions applicable, and are linked below; when you choose to instruct one of our group providers the applicable terms below are what you are agreeing shall apply to that engagement:
