Web Terms & Conditions
A website terms and conditions package is a pack of 3 documents, which will provide legal protection for your website.
Your will usually need this product if you have set up a website:
- To promote your business
- To sell your products (known as an e-commerce website)
- On which others may advertise, sell or auction goods
- With paid or unpaid listings
- For social networking.
- Your business has a tired and out of date website that you intend to update or are in the process of updating
- You are looking to expand your business into e-commerce
- You are looking to expand your online business to include selling, auction, social media, listings, competitions etc.
You must comply with specific legal rules, such as the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. These Regulations afford greater protection to consumers who buy online. You will need to ensure that your website terms and conditions protect you and achieve the right balance for your new business’ needs. The rules also require you to include things like a contact name and address on the website, enabling users to contact the site owner where necessary, displaying your company number and origin, etc.
The Website Terms and Conditions product ensures you have comprehensive legal protection for your website, by ensuring your website terms and conditions are drafted bespoke to fulfil your specific business’ requirements.
As a firm, we do this type of work daily. If you have a new and innovative website idea then we would love to hear from you and help you get things in place from the outset.
How long will it take?
The time taken for our work to conclude depends on precisely what it is we are asked to do. We would expect to have completed an initial draft within a week of taking your instructions. Special dispatch may be available where necessary at an extra charge.
We will provide 3 bespoke documents:
- Terms and Conditions
- User Agreement
There will ensure you are fully protected for your website business needs, including:
- Social networking
- Banner advertising
- Membership/private clubs
- Information only.
Our work will be charged at a fixed fee of £360 inc VAT.
Our fee applies regardless of how much work we actually do. In some cases this may mean we’ll get relatively better paid for doing less work than in other cases, in which the fixed fee will barely cover our costs. This is simply the nature of the mutual gamble between a solicitor and their client when they fix a fee.
More detail of all these matters will be outlined in our retainer letter which you will be able to review before you engage us, after pressing the “Buy” button on the website.
